Looking For the Name Of An Old Cartoon

....or any scrap of info I might use-

Old cartoon probably from the 40s or (maybe) early 50s........it's in color

All I remember is it features a little detective that zips around people's feet at a party.

I always thought it was a Looney Tune-
thinking the detective was Egghead (pic #1)
or a version of Egghead........
Until I saw this Walter Lantz cartoon (pic #2) "Syncopated Sioux" Release Date: 12/30/40
who looks a lot like Egghead (!)
-no name was givin to the character in this toon.



then again-
it may not be either of these guys..........

I remember someone gave a badge to egghead, but can't recall if he was a detective or a cowboy....
